Hours at these spots often run into the evening, later than a typical coffee shop, and many stay open on weekends when demand is highest in Champaign. Seasonal and limited-time drink or dessert flavors are common, so a shop's current menu can differ from what is posted online; checking recent photos or calling ahead helps. Straws for bubble tea are typically wide to accommodate the toppings, and are provided automatically unless you ask for a regular one. Champaign is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Champaign is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Illinois's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Suzu's is a non-negotiable. It is the most surprising, delectable, and well-hidden gems of Champaign. My favorite menu item is the matcha ice cream. Every time I visit, I get it with mochi and one of the baked delights. Today I chose rhubarb mochi, the matcha ice cream, and a miso brown sugar latte. The mochi was simple and sweet while the latte was the perfect combinatoin of a light umami flavor, a touch of rich sweetness, and absolutely no coffee bitterness, without being too milky. The matcha ice cream is always a go to as the quality is top notch. The matcha is a vibrant green with earthiness, but no texture, no bitterness, simply pure tasting. I love it teisted with vanilla or seasonal flavors, but by itself is just as good. I moved from CU 4 years ago and now only visit twice a year. This is my favorite place. Out of every bakery I have tried throughout my travels, the price, quality, and tenderness of this hometown bakery is unmatched. The service is simple, friendly, and unobtrusive. The treats are fresh, simple, and unassuming. I can't wait to see how the bakery grows.

Got an assortment of goodies and the prices were pretty reasonable. Would skip the ube mochi, Yuzu cake, and An Pan and go straight for the brownies, mocha cakes, and strawberry roll. Service was friendly and fast and the interior of the store was cute.

Definitely a hidden spot in the area. We just happened to be out in the area for dinner and the place we had dinner did not have much dessert options so we decided to venture out and found this. Amazing sweet treats and Coffee, very cute spot if you want to come out on a date as well. Since we were full from dinner we tried 2 things and coffee and was a great choice.

Great stop for sweet treats! The display in the bakery is cute. I was pleasantly surprised by how many gluten free items were available- thank you, Suzuβs for making delicious sweets accessible for gf folks! I had the chocolate okara cake. It was moist and very rich. The cheesecake looked great and if I am in town again Iβll be ordering a gf version. Service was great and the bakery was clean. Not much seating during cold weather, but there is a nice patio.
